Germany’s First AI Factory Supercomputer
HammerHAI delivers sovereign, high-performance AI and HPC infrastructure for European industry and research at HLRS.

Overview
HammerHAI is Germany’s first AI Factory, coordinated by the High-Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS). The initiative will provide secure, scalable AI infrastructure and expert support to European organizations, with a particular focus on engineering, manufacturing, automotive, and mobility.
The new AI-optimized supercomputer is being deployed as part of the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking’s AI Factories initiative and will be operated at HLRS in Stuttgart.
Solution
HPE is building the HammerHAI supercomputer with liquid-cooled NVIDIA GB200 NVL4 systems, Grace CPUs, Blackwell GPUs, and Quantum-X800 networking. Powered by VAST’s DASE architecture, this cloud-native platform unifies AI and HPC data to deliver high-performance scaling for training and inference.
Results
HammerHAI will provide European organizations with over 15 exaflops of peak AI inference performance, technical guidance, and lifecycle support. Unifying high-performance compute and data, this secure German platform helps users scale AI applications while meeting strict European data standards.
