Build, Deploy, and Observe AI Agents on VAST Agent Engine

Build, Deploy, and Observe AI Agents on VAST Agent Engine

Agents are easy to demo and hard to run in production: they need tools, data, a place to run, and a way to see what they are doing. VAST Agent Engine brings all four onto the platform you already operate, running on the VAST compute engine on your CNodes. In this hands-on lab, you pick your own adventure: build one agent or all three, targeting the SRE/ops, analytics, or AI developer persona. Working from Cursor with preloaded skills, you'll build agents with the VAST SDK, give them predefined VAST tools over MCP (such as Audit and Catalog), and ground them in VAST DB tables for both tabular and vector use cases. You'll deploy web services and an API gateway or MCP server directly on the cluster, then use VAST dashboards and VAST DB-backed traces to watch tool calls happen and debug what your agent did. You leave with a working pattern for taking an agent from idea to observable, deployed service on VAST.
