VAST Data Federal is proud to announce that the VAST Federal Data Platform has been certified by the U.S. Department of Defense Information Network Approved Products List (DoDIN APL). The DoDIN APL is a master list of products that have completed comprehensive cybersecurity and interoperability certification testing and are approved for deployment in the DoD’s technology infrastructure.
The DoDIN APL is one of the highest information security and product security certifications that a commercial product can achieve. The Department of Information Systems Agency (DISA) Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) manages the rigorous security and interoperability audit process to test and certify products in accordance with DOD Instruction 8100.04.
DoDIN APL certification confirms VAST Federal has demonstrated its ability to deliver best-of-breed, information security storage software to solve mission-critical federal challenges. This is a significant accomplishment as the VAST Federal Data Platform is now recognized throughout the DoD as a trusted platform to handle the government’s data storage and processing requirements.
I’m proud that VAST already serves as the data infrastructure backbone for some of the public sector’s most innovative and critical initiatives, including the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Million Veterans Program; the MITRE Federal AI Sandbox with NVIDIA; and most recently, the NERSC supercomputer Doudna. Other VAST Federal partners include the Lawrence Livermore National Labs, NASA, NOAA, and NREL, which chose VAST for its diverse infrastructure requirements, including the Kestrel supercomputer.

The VAST Federal Data Platform fully satisfies both NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5 security controls and the NSA’s 800-207 ZTA data pillar requirements at all levels, proving to be a premier data platform for high-security environments.
